The Kenya Embassy in Washington DC hosts Dr. Mohamud Sheikh Nurein Said, winner of the annual Harris Wofford Global Citizen Award

 

On June 28-29, 2013, Dr. Mohamud Sheikh Nurein Said received the Harris Wofford Global Citizen Award at NPCA's Peace Corps Connect's annual gathering in Boston. The award honors him as an outstanding global leader who grew up in a country where Peace Corps volunteers served. It is the highest honor bestowed upon a global leader by the National Peace Corps Association. During his visit in the United States, Dr. Mohamud Said was accompanied by the Director/Americas Directorate, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Amb. S.M. Gitonga.

 

On Tuesday, July 2, 2013, on behalf of the Head of Mission, the Deputy Chief of Mission, Amb. Jean Kamau welcomed and congratulated Dr. Mohamud Said on his great accomplishment. Also in attendance was former US Senator from Pennsylvania, Harris Wofford, whom the award is named after, and members of the National Peace Corps Association.
